Patricia “Pat” Bleuer

(nee Lewis)

Patricia Bleuer, age 71, of Morris and formerly of Channahon, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at her Morris residence. Born December 27, 1951, in Joliet, IL, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Mary (nee Phelps) Lewis.

Beloved wife of, Robert R. Bleuer; loving mother of, Nicole M. (Thomas) Lewis of Channahon, Jeffery R. Bleuer of Newark, and Ryan (Jenna) Bleuer of Channahon; proud grandmother of, Aubrie and Gabrielle Lewis, the late Owen Bleuer, Kiptyn, Zadie, and Paisley Bleuer and Max, Mason, and Madelyn Bleuer; sister of, Cynthia A. (Thomas) Manigan of Minooka, and Thomas L. (Robin) Lewis of Bend, OR. Numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends also mourn her passing as well as her faithful dog, Bear.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Owen.

Pat attended Minooka Community High School and received a bachelor's degree in agriculture communications from the University of Illinois. She worked for Big Farmer Magazine, ran a tailoring business with her friend, Kathy Hopkins, and operated the restaurant at Heritage Bluffs Golf Course for twenty years. Pat also served her community as a 4-H Leader, presenting Ag in the classroom and serving as a Will County Farm Bureau Board Member in a leadership role in representing women in agriculture in Illinois.

Pat’s greatest joys in life were her family and her passion for farming, with all its hardships and rewards. She instilled in her family, courage, strength, and a strong work ethic. Pat had a big heart and gave of herself to many, welcoming anyone that was important to her family to become part of her family.

A memorial visitation for Patricia will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. US Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, July 31, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 303 W. St. Mary's Street, Minooka, IL, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Ron Hilt officiating. As it was Pat's wish, cremation rites have been accorded.
